THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said it is unethical to twist the news related to the Centre’s notification regarding the ban on slaughter of livestock, which is being used for agriculture purposes, as a blanket ban on slaughter.
He said there is no ban on rearing animals for food purposes. The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests’ notification is very clear about it.
But the media is covering up these facts with political motives. He said the ministers and political leaders are responding to the issue based on such false reports. KPCC president M M Hassan has gone to the extent of saying the move is to sabotage the rituals during the month of Ramadan, he said.
