IDUKKI:The simmering differences between the CPM and the CPI in the district over the Kurinjimala sanctuary and the Munnar eviction, took a new turn with Power Minister M M Mani and CPI district secretary K K Sivaraman engaging in an open spat over the cancellation Idukki MP Joice George MP’s pattayam (title deed).

Blasting Mani’s allegation the CPI had taken money from the Congress for cancelling the title deed for Joice’s land at Kottakkamboor, Sivaraman dared the former to prove the allegation. Talking to reporters here, Sivaraman demanded Mani should tender a full apology if he fails to substantiate the charge . “Mani should disclose which leader allegedly took money for cancelling the title deed. As a minister, he should been careful while using words or levelling  allegations against others. The CPI is a political party which works for the people,” Sivaraman said.

According to him, the Devikulam Sub-Collector had cancelled the title deed as per the rules.  Sivaraman said Mani wanted to protect encroachers by using Joice as a shield.
