No necessity for filing supplementary chargesheet in 90 days, says Behera

DGP Loknath Behera on Wednesday said as per rules, there is no necessity for submitting supplementary chargesheet within 90 days in the actor assault case.

KOCHI: DGP Loknath Behera on Wednesday said as per rules, there is no necessity for submitting supplementary chargesheet within 90 days in the actor assault case. However, he maintained the Special Investigation Team will decide on when to submit the chargesheet.

“The court has granted bail (to actor Dileep) and we accept that. The probe is still on and the investigation will lead to a logical conclusion. We are not legally bound to file an immediate chargesheet. It is the SIT which would be filing it. I am yet to speak with them,” Behera told reporters here while he was reviewing the preparations and security arrangements for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup which kicks off in the city from October 6.
