ALAPPUZHA:  A news statement issued by the authorities of Lake Palace Resort, owned by Transport Minister Thomas Chandy, said the District Collector issued a notice against the resort without checking the ownership of the land used as the parking area. “In 2014, a person filed a petition out of vested interest in this regard before the High Court. Detailed inquiry revealed the petition was not trustworthy. All those concerned were heard and the case is sub-judice in the HC,” the note said.

“The road to Zero Jetty is a public road being used by a large number of families residing on either banks. Projecting the company built the road for personal use is a baseless allegation. The road is owned by the municipality and was tarred using MP fund sanctioned by the Collector,” it said.
