MALAPPURAM:CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has termed President Ramnath Kovind’s speech praising communal harmony in Kerala as a befitting reply to the ongoing anti-Kerala campaign by the RSS and the BJP. Addressing the media in Malappuram on Sunday, he said both outfits are using their political influence in the Centre to tarnish the image of Kerala.

“Anti-CPM campaign of the RSS will not yield results in the state as Kerala is ready to face any challenge from the RSS with the support of secular forces,” he said. Kodiyeri ruled out the allegation raised by the UDF that the LDF has taken a soft stand towards the BJP in the state. Only the LDF can effectively resist the BJP in Kerala. He said Left parties will join hands with the Congress at the national level if they are ready to agree to a common programme strongly opposing the communal agenda and liberalisation policy of the BJP.

He said the BJP’s Jana Raksha Yatra has turned out to be a failure with poor turnout of party supporters in the rallies. He also said the election result in Kerala will not be a referendum of the LDF Government’s performance.
