Sibling trio’s startup venture to share space on global platform

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three brothers from Balaramapuram here will leave for South Korea after their startup ‘Buyfie’, has been selected for the prestigious ‘in2Korea’ acceleration programme.  Founded by siblings Praveen S S, Pranav S S and Prabin S S,  ‘Buyfie’  is one of the 30 tech startups from across the world invited to participate in the gala event. The product was chosen on the basis of minimum viable product (MVP), ie, a product having sufficient features to satisfy initial users. It allows users to discover and buy goods or service deals nearest to their location by name and price and communicate via chat bots and SMSes and experience visual e-commerce.


More than 200 local stores are currently registered with ‘Buyfie’ in Thiruvananthapuram district. In addition to expanding its operations to more cities within the next few months, ‘Buyfie’ is also developing a web portal and app for users.Buyfie was incubated under ‘Startup Dreams’, a social sector initiative by the SC Development Department in association with the Kerala Startup Mission. It was incorporated in 2016 as Axen Software Pvt Ltd. in Technopark.


‘in2Korea’ acceleration programme is conducted by South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). It offers startups the opportunity to fast-track their growth in one of the world’s major IT hubs. The invitees to the programme cover a range of industries such as fintech, green tech, artificial intelligence and e-commerce.
