Behera decries allegations against police officers

State police Chief Loknath Behera on Saturday said levelling personal allegations against police officers involved in criminal investigation was a wrong tendency.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State police Chief Loknath Behera on Saturday said levelling personal allegations against police officers involved in criminal investigation was a wrong tendency.  Behera also termed as baseless the allegations levelled against police officials involved in the investigation into the actress attack case.

“The police are engaged in a vigilant and just probe into the actress attack case to ensure justice for the victim,” Behra said in a statement. He said  a special investigation team, involving officers from the Crime Branch, was probing the case. He clarified that ADGP B Sandhya only had a supervisory role in the case. “The case against Swami Gangeshananda is also being probed by a special team of the Crime Branch. Sandhya is not part of that probe team,” Behera said.
