KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the actress assault case on Monday submitted before the Kerala High Court it emerged filmmaker Nadirshah had suppressed many facts during interrogation, which was revealed by an analysis of his statements.Investigating officer Baiju Poulose submitted: “Though Nadirshah replied to the questions, several of the answers pertaining to his role in the case have not been satisfactory.”

The SIT filed the statement opposing the anticipatory bail plea of Nadirshah. In his bail application, Nadirshah submitted an elaborate investigation was conducted for around three months and the detailed final report was submitted before the trial court. Though Nadirshah, several others and the accused persons were questioned in detail, the agency could not find any incriminating material against him, the plea said.

The police said the investigation team encountered serious limitations in questioning Nadirshah as he frequently expressed physical discomfort.“Further investigation and verification are being conducted with respect to the replies given by Nadirshah during interrogation. However, Nadirshah has not been made an accused in this case so far and the present circumstances do not warrant his arrest,” Baiju said.

The police submitted, based on the notice, Nadirshah appeared before the investigating officer on September 17. “Before interrogation, he was subjected to medical examination. The entire interrogation has been videographed. The petitioner was asked about certain incriminating materials noticed against him during the probe and also regarding some other relevant points in the case. But, the answers were not satisfactory, the police said.

When the bail plea came before the court, counsel for Nadirshah submitted he had cooperated with the investigation. After examining the statement filed by the investigating officer, the court directed the prosecution to file materials against Nadirshah in brief in a sealed cover. It also asked to inform whether a further interrogation or arrest of the petitioner is needed in the case. The court posted the case to September 25.
