Solar inquiry panel all set to file report

Nearly four years after launching inquiry into the Solar scam, the Justice G Sivarajan Commission is likely to file its report directly to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

KOCHI: Nearly four years after launching inquiry into the Solar scam, the Justice G Sivarajan Commission is likely to file its report directly to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. Though the office of the Commission said ‘nothing has been decided,’  advocates who had appeared before it said Justice Sivarajan had sought an appointment with the Chief Minister on Tuesday, a day before the last date for filing it. The secretary to the Commission is expected to accompany him.

Till Monday, the commission had not approached the government for extending its tenure, having done it by two months on the last occasion to complete report compilation.  The commission was constituted in 2013 following the demands of the Opposition who sought a detailed investigation into the involvement of UDF ministers, MLAs and MPs in the solar scam.
