the article on February 20.

Kottayam Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) Dipak Mishra will inquire into the incident and submit a report in this regard. The inquiry has been ordered based on the report published by The New Indian Express.

“We’ve taken note of the report pointing out the violations in erecting the fence. There has been three allegations, regarding erecting a fencing close to the Anakulam Oru on the riverbed, blocking the pathway of tribals and encroachments.

The CCF has reported the issues have been taken care of before sanctioning the work. However, in view of the report, the CCF has been directed to ensure the elephant corridor is not disturbed and no violations are made,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden P K Kesavan told Express.
