KOCHI: The police said they would produce M M Akbar before the court on Monday.
“He’ll be produced before the court after preliminary interrogation as it’s crucial to get know whether the introduction of books was a deliberate attempt to spread communal hatred among students. Instead of the NCERT, CBSE or SCERT syllabus, the school used a textbook published by Navi Mumbai-based Burooj Realisation,” said the police. Peace schools came under the scanner in 2016 when nearly 21 people from across the state fled the country allegedly to join IS.
Several of them had been associated with schools in Kasaragod, Palakkad, Malappuram and Ernakulam. A case was also registered the same year against the principal, administrator and three managing committee members under Section 153(A) of the Indian Penal Code.
