KANNUR: The Kannur police have arrested four SDPI leaders for taking out a protest march without police permission and raising provocative slogans.
According to the police, SDPI district president Basheen Punnad, Basheer Kannadipparamba, Muhammad Faizal and Sajeer Narath were arrested on Tuesday.
On last Friday, the SDPI had taken out a protest march against the alleged police witch-hunt in connection with the murder of SFI leader Abhimanyu.
It was during the protest march, taken out without the permission of the police, that they had allegedly shouted provocative slogans, the police said.
