THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has registered a suo motu case into the Maradu mishap in which two kids and woman helper were killed after a play school van fell into a temple pond in Kochi on Monday.
The Commission had issued directive in 2015 to stop reckless driving of school vans and over-speeding violating the rules pertaining to the transportation of school children.Though the Director of Public Instruction has issued directions based on the Commission instructions, majority of the school authorities are dragging their feet in enforcing the rules, the commission observed, adding laxity in this matter cannot be continued.
