THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Seeking to resolve the issue of the late running of trains, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has written to Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goel, pointing to the difficulties faced by commuters. He took up the issue based on a memorandum given to him by passenger organisation ‘Friends of Railway’, comprising of passengers who commute daily between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam.

The Union minister in an earlier communique to Railway officials said trains should run on the scheduled time and the responsibility of late running of trains will be on the officials. But Chennithala pointed out the officials were trying to communicate that the late running time of the trains is the new schedule and thereby shirk responsibility.
