Theft at Kolavallur SI’s house

As news of thefts are increasing, a theft in the house of Kolavallur SI Vinod Kumar has further embarrassed the police in the district.

KANNUR: As news of thefts are increasing, a theft in the house of Kolavallur SI Vinod Kumar has further embarrassed the police in the district.According to the police, gold ornaments worth ` 2 lakh, including gold chains, rings and bangles, were reportedly robbed from the house at Perumthattil on Saturday between 6 am and 6.30 am. Vinod Kumar was on duty at the station during that time. 

According to the police, the theft might have taken place as Subhashini, the wife of Vinod Kumar, had opened the front door of the house in the morning around 6 am and went to the kitchen to make tea. 
The fact that the house is situated in a residential area and a person was inside the house during the theft show the audacity of the thief. 

It leads to the suspicion there might have been more than one person in the act, said the police.
Thalasserry town police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Town CI M P Azad and SI M Anil reached the house. Fingerprint experts and dog squad also visited the house in connection with the investigation.
