Susan Kody is state Social Welfare Board director

Susan is at present the vice-president of the All India Democratic Women’s Association.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Social Welfare Board (KSSWB), an autonomous body functioning under the aegis of the Central Social Welfare Board, has got a new head - Susan Kody. She was the former director of the Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation Ltd. “Susan’s 35 years of experience in handling issues related to women and children will come handy in her new endeavour,” Women and Child Development Minister K K Shailaja said in a statement. 

Susan is at present the vice-president of the All India Democratic Women’s Association. She had earlier served as Karunagappally grama panchayat president from 1995 to 2000, master trainer of Kerala State Literary Mission, director of Kollam Care Health and Palliative Federation, among others. 

KSSWB is entrusted with the responsibility to ensure the service of legal counsellors and clinical psychologists in shelter homes and service-providing centres, implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and Swadhar Greh Scheme, and others.
