PARADIP: The 49th National Maritime Day was celebrated at the west basin of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) on Thursday. Unfurling the National Maritime flag, PPT Chairman GJ Rao spoke about the importance of day and appreciated the performance of different departments of the port.

Rao stressed safety and security of the cargo at the ports and on high seas. He said the port has improved in all operational parameters. A seminar on Safer Maritime Navigation on India Coast’ was organised by the marine community of PPT.

On the occasion, Rao felicitated a retired engineer DP Mohanty. Among others, President of Paradip Ladies Club G Pushpa Rao, Deputy Chairman of PPT SAC Bose, Deputy Conservator of PPT GP Biswal were present.
