BHUBANESWAR: Former director-general of Income Tax (Exemptions) Sivapada Swain on Monday took oath of office as member of the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC).
Chairman of the commission SP Nanda administered the oath to Swain who replaced KC Badu.
Starting his career as an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Swain had brief exposure to energy sector during his tenure as director, Finance, of the Orissa Power Generation Corporation (OPGC).
Information Commissioner TK Mishra, Energy Secretary G Mathivathanan, several past members of the Commission and senior officers of the Energy Department, Gridco, OPTCL and distribution companies were present.
