BHUBANESWAR: With the mercury soaring, charitable organisations have been coming up with ‘jalachhatra’ to help commuters quench their thirst and beat the heat. City-based AK Das Associates on Monday installed one such kiosk at Maharshi College Square. Passers-by and commuters will be extended cool water and buttermilk. The kiosk was unveiled by Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani. A bed for those hit by sunstroke and needing rest has also been provided. MLA Bijay Mohanty, Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, former BMC chairman Dr Jagannath Mohapatra, UNDP State head Ambika Nanda and AK Das Associates MD Amiya Kanta Das were present.
