BERHAMPUR: While the entire State was busy celebrating the release of Laxmipur legislator Jhina Hikaka,unidentified miscreants kidnapped the son of a builder, on Thursday.

K. Ganesh Rao, a student of Khallikote Autonomous College, was near Salia dam along Ganjam-Nayagarh border, with two of his friends when was abducted by the miscreants at gun point. His friends reported the matter at Beguniapada police station.

The police immediately informed their counterparts in Banpur, Nayagarh and Balugaon.

Though police are tight-lipped on the ransom demand, sources said two teams led by Chhatrapur SDPO Santanu Padhy and Berhampur Sadar SDPO Pandab Mohanty are tracking the case.Ganesh was earlier abducted about 20 days back and a ransom call of ` 2 lakh made.

However, Ganesh had then managed to escape from the clutches of his captors and the police nabbed two youths on charges of attempt to kidnap.
