Giving a new twist to the crackdown against him, Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda on Friday said he is being hunted down by the Government because it allegedly perceives him to be close to Pyarimohan Mohapatra.
In a fresh audio tape, Sabyasachi said he has nothing to do with Pyari, but the police action is being used to indirectly target the Odisha Jan Morcha leader because of the plunging political equations with Naveen.
This is for the first time that the Maoist leader has made a remark on the political equation between Naveen and Pyari. In the tape, he said a police officer, during a casual talk, had stated that his alleged proximity with Pyari has the Naveen Government turning the heat on him. He also slammed the Government for phone-tapping.
Sabyasachi condemned the arrest of Sangram Mohanty, son on Maoist interlocutor Dandapani Mohanty. He said the Naveen Government has been trying to mount pressure on Dandapani for his role for the democratic forces.
He criticised the CPI(Maoist)’s recent remarks that he has been hand in glove with the police and acting as a liquidator of the revolutionary movement.Sabyasachi was expelled from party earlier this year after he fell out with the central committee leadership.
