BERHAMPUR: A retired lecturer couple Gopal Krushna Panigrahy and Kamala Kumari Panigrahy were found murdered at their residence at Ramkrushnanagar in the city.
The maid saw the bodies on Friday morning on reaching the house for work. Baidyanathpur police reached the place with scientific team and sniffer dog.
The miscreants killed Gopal with a sharp weapon and used a pillow to suffocate Kamala to death. After killing the couple, the miscreants decamped with cash, ornaments and other valuables.
The incident took place between 8 pm and 11 pm on Thursday. The couple were staying alone and the police suspect involvement of locals in the double murder.
