Kritansh fest kicks off

BHUBANESWAR: Kritansh, the annual techno-management festival of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology University (KIIT), kicked off on the campus on Tuesday.

Around 10,000 students from various faculties of the university are participating in this event, hailed as the biggest techno-management extravaganza of Eastern India. On the first day, over 1,000 engineering and management students from several institutes across the country registered for this three-day gala affair.

 The participants will display their expertise in various fields through a series of technically challenging activities and business simulation games. Besides the tougher events such as Bulls and Bears (online share trading), Mega builders  (constructing sturdy bridges with ice-cream sticks) and ‘Cyber Insomnia’ (ethical hacking), a variety of fun activities like Ground Zero, Robosphere, Snap n Splash and Klick will keep the contestants engrossed.

 The organisers said as many as 40 events in eight sections like Joie De Vivre, Gurukul, Play, Kreative Eye, Corporate Finestra, Learn Create and Robosphere have been planned.

 “The popular Robosphere segment will feature challenging events like Robowars, Wall-I, Crack the Track, Arkitek, Robo Race, Path Finder, Aqua Bots, Destined and Insta. Bands from across the country will fight for the grand title of Sultans of Rock. In addition, Kritansh will have a band performance by Ash King, an international band, on the concluding day,” said Manish Das, an organiser. This apart, the students would get to meet renowned author Chetan Bhagat on Wednesday.
