BOUDH: Stray incidents of post-poll violence continue to trickle in from across the district. One Kamla Pradhan of Janhapank village under Khuntbandh panchayat in Boudh Sadar block has sought police protection.

Kamla, wife of Mantri Pradhan, alleged that the losing candidate in the sarpanch poll, Swadhin Kumar Pradhan has threatened her family of dire consequences and to drive them out of the village after the results were announced. wThough a clear reason behind the assault is yet to be ascertained, it is stated that Swadhin held Mantri family responsible for the defeat.

After the fourth phase on Friday, it was revealed that Swadhin of Khuntbandh village was defeated by his rival Jogeswar Mahakud.

Swadhin reportedly could not take the defeat in his stride and held the Mantri family responsible.
