BHUBANESWAR: The prolonged disappearance of a student of a private engineering college has fuelled abduction fears among the family members. The girl, a resident of Unit VIII area here, had gone to Puri on February 15 but did not return. The family had lodged a missing report then but now apprehends that she may have been kidnapped. Two days after she went missing, the family learnt that one of the girl’s friends had accompanied her to Puri with others. She had been keeping quiet over the matter. But, when the family confronted her, the friend revealed that the girl got down at Ravi Talkies Square and went away. The girl’s family alleged that the friend may have knowledge about the ‘kidnapping’. Police have been investigating it as a case of missing person.
