RAJGANGPUR: PDS beneficiaries of two villages under Kutra block in Sundargarh district lodged a complaint in the block office on Thursday suspecting adulteration of sugar.
An administrative team was rushed to verify and initiate necessary measures.
The villagers of Damposh and Raikani villages alleged that the sugar procured from government retailers tasted strange. They suspected that urea was mixed in sugar.
Ruling out possibility of adulteration, Sundargarh Civil Supplies Officer SC Das said investigation revealed that the sugar grains were of very small size. Samples have been collected for laboratory examinations, he added.
