360 booths sensitive in Maoist-hit Ganjam

BERHAMPUR: With the panchayat polls drawing closer, the Ganjam district administration is making all possible efforts to hold the election smoothly.  In the first step towards this,

BERHAMPUR: With the panchayat polls drawing closer, the Ganjam district administration is making all possible efforts to hold the election smoothly.

 In the first step towards this, it has started acting on pending warrants and seizing illegal arms.

  The administration has  also identified 2012 booths as sensitive. This includes 276 booths under Kodola police limits, 182 in Soroda, 178 in Pattapur, 161 in  Tarasing, 141 in Rambha and 117 in Chhatrapur besides other areas.  

 Close to 360 booths in Maoist-affected areas have also been identified as sensitive and special vigil is being maintained in sensitive areas.  Police has braced up to avert untoward incidents during the panchayat polls.
