PARALAKHEMUNDI: Annoyed over continuous administrative and developmental negligence, the villagers of Ajayagad panchayat under Gumma block in the Maoist- affected Gajapati district have pledged not to exercise their franchise in the panchayat elections to protest the inefficiency of the local politicians and the political parties.
Hundreds of tribal villagers of Ajayagad panchayat have collectively decided to boycott the panchayat polls to protest administrative negligence for the last one decade. The villagers complained that there was no point in taking part in the polls as both the local politicians and administrators have neglected development works in Ajayagad panchayat and requests have not yielded any result.
