PURI: Three teachers were suspended for dereliction of duty by the Secretary of School and Mass Education Department Aparijata Sarangi during her visit to the district on Monday and Tuesday.
She along with other officials inspected many primary and secondary schools in all the 11 blocks of the district.
In the process, she ordered for suspension of two Block Resource Centre Coordinators (BRCCs), three teachers and withheld salaries of one BRCC, 12 Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs), 10 headmasters, 11 teachers for dereliction of duty. She also appreciated work of 32 teachers belonging to 25 schools.
The Secretary reviewed the work of district education officials in a meeting on Tuesday. The disciplinary action would be taken after the panchayat polls.
