DHENKANAL: A private boiler farm here had allegedly suppressed unnatural deaths of over 300 chickens. The State Research team visited the farm on Friday and collected samples which have been sent to Bhopal.
Official sources said the unusual deaths had started since January 16 at Suakhaikateni village under Sadar block.
Meanwhile, the district administration has rushed officials to the spot and sounded alert within three km of the farm.
CDVO Bijay Prusty informed the rapid response team will visit all the suspected farms.
Awareness on prevention of bird flu will be organised from Saturday, he said adding that birds have already been culled in 163 private farms.
