ROURKELA: The MSME International Trade Fair saw orders to the tune of ` 50 crore being mobilised during its five days at Sector-13 ground. Organised for the first time at the industrial hub of Rourkela city, the fair helped fostering feasible links among the micro, medium and small enterprises.

It was organised by the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) of the Union Ministry for MSMEs and Department of Industries, Odisha.

NSIC Odisha chief PC Nayak said small industrial units got a platform to establish direct marketing links with major manufacturing units including the RSP, NTPC, HAL, MCL, Mecon, Vedanta, NINL and JSPCL.  He said major units placed material procurement orders amounting to ` 50 crore on smaller units.

Director-General of the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business AK Jha, the chief guest, hoped  similar events in future would ensure growth of smaller units alongside the mega units.
