BHUBANESWAR: Finally moving to strengthen the administration in the three Medicals, the State Government on Thursday announced posting of full time superintendents and principals in the institutions. Head of Biochemistry of the SCB Medical College and Hospital Prof Prakash Chandra Mohapatra has been appointed principal of the college, while Prof DN Moharana would continue to be the superintendent.
Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of the VSSMCH at Burla Prof Santosh Kumar Behera has become the new dean and principal while Medicine Prof Dr Laxmikanta Das has been appointed the superintendent. SCBMCH Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prof Dr Ashok Kumar Behera has been posted as superintendent of the MKCGMCH, Berhampur.
As many as seven associate professors have also been elevated to the rank of professor along with promotion of 30 assistant professors to the posts of associate professor in the three Medicals. Five of the new professors have been posted at VSSMCH and two at MKCGMCH.
Of the 30 assistant professors promoted, 10 belong to the SCBMCH, 13 to VSSMCH and seven to MKCGMCH. The 10 elevated assistant professors have been transferred to the VSSMCH and MKCGMCH. The Health and Family Welfare Department has also appointed 25 senior residents and tutors at the VSSMCH.
Those transferred will have to join their posts immediately, the department notification stated.
