BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa High Court has directed the State Government to allow outside Odisha students, having diploma in engineering, to apply for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission into the B Tech course in lateral entry category.
Acting a petition filed by Orissa Private Engineering Colleges Association, the HC said, considering the huge vacancies in engineering colleges last year and taking into account interest of the institutions as well as the students, the Clause 2.4 of the JEE brochure, which bars outside Odisha candidates to seek admission through lateral entry, be modified.
