The college elections across the State will be conducted on October 19. This was announced by the Higher Education Department on Monday.The notifications for the election will be issued on October 10.
This year the elections in both the undergraduate and postgraduate colleges will be conducted simultaneously. The nominations for different positions will be accepted on October 12. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on the same day from 2-4 pm. The withdrawal list of the candidates will be declared on October 13.
‘Why I Stand For’, an important part of the college elections where every candidate pitches for his candidature will take place on October 18.
The polling will be held from 8 am to 2 pm on October 19 and votes will be counted from 2 pm to 6 pm on the same day. The results will be declared on October 20.
The elections will take place according to the guidelines set by the Lyngdoh Commission and as per the rules and regulations set by the Supreme Court.
