Work on Jharsuguda airport soon: Chief Secretary

Work on the defunct Jharsuguda airport will be resumed soon, Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik has said. Informing this to mediapersons on Monday, he said the upgradation plan of the airport requires an additional 187.52 acres of which, 126.81 acres are private. He said the district administration would soon start the land acquisition process to expedite the work.

 Jharsuguda Collector B P Sahu, SP K S Kawar and Airports Authority of India Manager (engineering and civil) A K Saha accompanied him. To a question on the power crisis in the State, Patnaik said once the second unit of OPGC comes into existence, the problem would be sorted out.
