The joy of giving

The Joy of Giving Week concluded here on Monday. The week saw several philanthropic activities organised by City-based Bakul Foundation in association with the Women and Child Development

Department. Bakul has been organising a collection drive of used clothes, books and toys with a motive to spread joy among the underprivileged for the last two years.

Akshaya Samman

The prestigious Akshaya Samman-2012 will be conferred on Anandji Virji Shah for his outstanding contribution to the music industry. The award, instituted by the Akshaya Mohanty Foundation, would be presented at a function here on October 12, the birth anniversary of legendary composer and lyricist Akshaya Mohanty. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a memento.
