Miscreants hurl five bombs at Capital Law College

Panic gripped the Capital Law College here on Wednesday after unidentified miscreants hurled crude bombs inside the campus.

According to eyewitnesses, five crude bombs were lobbed at around 9.15 am. Most of the students were attending classes during the incident, which is being attributed to the October 19 students’ union election.

“This is an attempt by the rival party to stall the election as they feel their chances to score a win are dim,” said Prasanna, a candidate. He added that they have asked the principal not to cancel the election.

A formal complaint has been lodged in Nayapalli police station by the college.

The police too suspect internal dispute among students in the run-up to the election to have triggered the incident.

The crude bombs are suspected to have been thrown from an elevated platform from inside the college, the police added.
