The construction work of the flyover at Rajmahal is finally complete and will be inaugurated soon, sources said.
Though the previous deadline for completion of the flyover was set for June 30, the authorities jumped the deadline by more than three months. But the good news is that the flyover is expected to be inaugurated at the earliest.
The total expenditure till date has touched around ` 35 crore.
Though the agreement cost was estimated at ` 52 crore, officials at the Works Department said the project would be completed within a budget of ` 43 crore.
There were numerous issues like relocating a vending zone in Bapuji Nagar that obstructed the construction of flyover in the initial stages.
“The construction of the flyover work was completed 15 days back. Only the ancillary works like the grills and dividers are being given finishing touches,” said a senior Works Department official. All the ancillary works will continue alongside the functioning of flyover for about another 15 days.
The flyover connects AG Square with Kalpana Square and will help lessen traffic density on those routes.
