Care and support of elders is an increasing concern with talks of India likely to become a country of old people by 2050.
Against the backdrop, a sensitisation programme on health issues for senior citizens was held by MADAT, an NGO, in collaboration with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and NISD.
A souvenir ‘Satayu’, containing information on ageing and old-age care, was also unveiled. Among others, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, retired Justice BK Behera, MP Prasanna Patsani and eminent actor Sarat Pujari were present.
