A man died and a truck was gutted following a road mishap on NH-6 at Bijay Nagar under Deogarh police limits on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar Sahu of Chandankhunti village in Barkote block. The truck driver has surrendered. Reports said Sahu was returning to his village when a truck hit his motorcycle. Eyewitnesses said the two-wheeler got caught between the wheels of the heavy vehicle and was dragged till 300 mt. The truck caught fire.
Soon after the incident, tension gripped the area as locals blocked the NH holding back Sahu’s body, demanding construction of speed-breakers and compensation to the bereaved family. ENS
