Wholesale shop burgled, 13 lakh looted

Gold and cash were looted in two incidents under Brajrajnagar police limits on Sunday.

Reports said late on Saturday night unidentified miscreants broke into the shop of wholesale merchant Biswanath Agarwal at Lamtibahal area and made away with Rs 13 lakh in cash. Agarwal is one of the big-time wholesalers of foodgrains and edible items in the district. A case has been registered.


In another incident two bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman around 2.30 pm at ESI Chhak area under Brajrajnagar police limits on Sunday.

Sources said for the past one week thefts and snatching incidents in the areas under the Brajrajnagar police limits are on the rise.
