Adventure sports, cookery contests, poem recital, Pallishree Mela and much more. This year’s Kalinga Baliyatra Mahotsav promises to be more attractive than the previous ones.

Against the backdrop of the roaring sea and glazing sands, the Kalinga Baliyatra will  kick off to a colourful start at the Biju Maidan here on November 26.

Preparatory meeting of the Mahotsav was organised here on Sunday where the administrative officials decided to seek permission from the Environment Department to increase the duration of the festival in the night during the Mahotsav.

The meeting was presided over by District Collector Satyakumar Mallick who is also the chairman of the organising committee and attended by Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout and Jagatsinghpur legislator Bishnu Das.

The Collector said there are plans to invite popular cultural troupes from across the country to perform during the seven-day mahotsav.
