A local TV channel crew was assaulted by a private bus operator and his staff at Baramunda bus stand after they objected to their highhandedness here on Saturday evening.
Basant Nayak, a cameraman of the channel, sustained injuries and is being treated at a private hospital here. Pravat Mallick, chairman of the private TV channel, was also attacked by the anti-social elements. An FIR was lodged at Khandagiri police station in this regard.
Police said, Mallick had gone to the bus stand to see off his mother who was to board a bus to Sunabeda. However, the seat she was issued against the ticket had more than one claimants since the bus staff had allegedly sold tickets to three others. When Mallick raised an objection, he was assaulted. His cameraman who reached the spot was thrashed too.
