ULB Elections Peaceful

The voting for Phulbani Municipality and G Udaygiri NAC in Kandhamal district concluded peacefully on Monday amid tight security. While voter turnout was 71 per cent in G Udaygiri, it was 62 per cent in Phulbani.

The fate of 63 candidates in 13 wards of Phulbani Municipality and 49 candidates in the same number of wards in G Udaygiri NAC will be decided on Tuesday when the votes will be counted in the Biju Kalyan Mandap at Phulbani and on the premises of Hubback High School at G Udaygiri. All arrangements for counting in the both towns have been done, said Returning Officer Debesh Kumar Biswal.
