A Class X student was killed as the motorcycle he was riding rammed into a truck at a busy inter-section on NH-224 here on Friday. The deceased is Susant Bhuiyan of Khatia village in Ranpur.
Police have arrested the driver.
Susant was coming from the Women’s College road which meets the NH. At the intersection, the NH has been narrowed down due to encroachment by shops. Added to that, construction materials have been dumped right on the NH for several months blocking movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
Susant apparently could not turn his vehicle enough to avoid the speeding truck and collided with it.
