Maoists Claim Responsibility for Three Villagers' Killing

While bullet-riddled bodies of Tulasi and Jaga of Ramaguda were found in a forest near Bhenjanwada on Saturday morning, Govind was shot dead at MV-90 on Saturday evening.

Maoists have claimed the responsibility for murder of ward member Tulasi Behera, Jaga Madkami and MV-90 based contractor Govind Saha on Friday.

In an audio tape released on Monday, Malkangiri divisional committee secretary of the Maoists Punam Chandar stated that the three persons were killed as they were police informers. All the police informers have to admit the mistakes committed by them, the audio stated.

While bullet-riddled bodies of Tulasi and Jaga of Ramaguda were found in a forest near Bhenjanwada on Saturday morning, Govind was shot dead at MV-90 on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, panic has gripped the Special Police Officers (SPOs) and their families in remote and interior pockets after the Maoists asked them to either quit their jobs within seven days or leave the village. However, a top police official said the Maoists are indulging in false propaganda as their movement has been confined to their hideouts deep inside the forest for the deployment of Border Security Forces at sensitive places.

The Central elite paramilitary forces have posed a tough challenge to the ultras by intensifying anti-Maoist operation while taking up the problems of the tribals with the district administration for redressal, he added.
