Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday expressed happiness over the recommendation of the expert committee to the Culture Ministry for classical status to Odia language.
Stating that it was a long-standing demand of people of Odisha, Naveen hoped that the Union Cabinet will accept the recommendation of the expert committee and accord classical status to Odia language soon. The Chief Minister had also drawn the attention of the Centre several times to the demand.
