BANGALORE: The State government has decided to felicitate all those who fought for getting classical status for Kannada.
The government would present them with a 10 gram gold medal and citation at a function to be organised at the Vidhana Soudha.
Transport Minister R Ashok said that the Kannada and Culture Department had been asked to select 100 activists, writers, journalists and politicians who fought for the cause. Former MLA Vatal Nagaraj, D Javare Gowda, critic Chidanda Murthy are among those likely be feted, Ashok said.
