BHUBANESWAR: Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra on Wednesday demanded that the alleged irregularities in allotment of plots/houses by the Government agencies should be handed over to the CBI.

Rejecting the task force constituted by the Government to review irregularities in the allotment of plots/houses in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, Mishra said it neither has the power to investigate nor take action against those involved.

Stating that the task force at best be a fact finding body, the senior Congress leader said this is an attempt by the Government to cover up the scam in which many Ministers, ruling party leaders and bureaucrats are involved.

“If Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is serious to prove that his Government is clean, he should hand over the case to CBI without delay,” Mishra said.
