'Right to Vote' in Tribal Language

In a bid to enable thousands of tribal voters understand the ‘Right to Vote’ campaign, efforts have been made to prepare the campaign in tribal language in Dhenkanal under the supervision of Collector and District Election Officer Roopa Roshan Sahoo. This was informed by Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) specially opened for election.

The Right to Vote Campaign which is scheduled to start from March 25 in rural areas has already started in Dhenkanal town areas through rallies and folk mediums.

Sahoo informed mediapersons about the tribal script.Maoist affected Kankadahada block is dominated by tribals of various communities apart from some parts of Parjang, Sadar, Gondia and Hindol blocks. Development schemes for as many as 1.5 lakh people from tribal communities are in operation. As per official reports, 42 per cent of population in Kanakadahada block belong to tribal communities. If the campaign goes on in tribal language, this will be  effective to make voters aware on importance of voting, said Akshaya Kumar Pany, tribal activist and leader.
